I am the proud owner and artist of Next Level Cakes, a home based cake studio, located in San Diego, California specializing in delicious custom and artistic cakes for all occasions. Originally from Michigan, I grew up watching my parents bake cakes for their own cake decorating business as well as teach classes in our home. I was always in complete awe of what they created and it would eventually inspire the creativity in me.

I graduated college in 1996 with a Bachelors Degree in Interior Design and worked many years creating beautiful restaurant, food court, and hospital dining cafes. 

Relying on my mastery of the fundamental principles of design like balance, emphasis, proportion, scale, and color, I have created fantastic and memorable cakes - each one unique, delicious, and a complete showstopper.

Being a veteran of the Navy and understanding the nuances of rate and rank structure, uniform devices, traditions, ceremony, and CPO culture. I have the honor and privilege of being asked to create ​cakes for retirements, commissionings, Naval birthdays, and Khaki Balls and I remain committed to making each one special and well designed. 

What started out as a hobby with cakes for friends and neighbors, has grown into a full fledged business and ongoing adventure of creative growth, all while working full time as a certified massage therapy in my own private practice. The unique balance of arts in my life keeps me happily busy and well centered.
